Topic: OpenVPN Reinstall

Hey there!

My SME 7.2 server is running a while now, without any problems. I installed the OpenVPN contrib and it used to work great. But, after not using it for quite a while, it doesn´t seem to work. When I boot the server is says [FAILED] when it tries to starts openVPN. Maybe it'll be the best to just remove it completely to get PPTP working again, and then reïnstall. Can I do this safe? What is the best way to doe that? yum remove openvpn, or more? Thank you very much!

Maybe first try:

cat /var/log/messages |grep openvpn

and see why openvpn is failing to start.

You'll find some informations about openvpn in this log:
/var/log/openvpn/server-bridge.log

You can also check this log in the panel of the server-manager.

When I look in the log messages, nothing about OpenVPN is shown. Also, /var/log/openvpn/server-bridge.log doesn't exist.

However, when I use OpenVPN GUI, it does ask me for login/password and shows the two green 'i am connected' screens.

- the certificate server.crt cannot be loaded. Try removing all the certificates and start from scratch (you'll have to create new certificates for your clients). You can do this in the certificate manager
- the address pool is not valid, you've let the default 192.168.xx.xx. You have to configure a valid IP range in your local subnet. For example you use the subnet 192.168.2.0/24, you can set start to be 192.168.2.10 and stop to be 192.168.2.20
