Greetings,
I have recently upgraded a customers gateway server and another fileserver from 6.0 to 7.2. (IP: 192.168.0.1 & 192.168.0.3)
The customer has a second server where they run hmailserver as their email server (IP: 192.168.0.2)
I have set up the email on the SME box to use the external email server instead of the built-in email server.
The issue I am having is that any admin emails are not being received by the external email server. The strange thing is that if I log into the gateway box and using the command line "mail" program and send a mail to say user@outsidedomain.com then the mail is successfully sent to the external address. If however, I send a mail to say user@customerdomain.com (where customerdomain.com is the customer's domain) the hmailserver does not receive this email.
I can send emails from home to the customer and the hmailserver receives them no worries, it's only emails from the gateway server that is sent to an address of the same domain that do not get though.
A side effect I am having is that I have set up hylafax on the fileserver (SME7.2) and faxes are received fine but because the server does not seem to be able to send emails to the external server I am not getting the fax messages sent to my fax account.
I've looked through the log files but cannot see anything out of the ordinary. The emails from admin@customerdomain.com used to get sent to the external server using 6.0 (and on a 7.0 setup I had as a test machine) but not in 7.2.
I've seen someone else have a similar issue with missing admin reports, but I believe he is using the internal email server whereas I am using an external server.
Any ideas?
