Throttle ibays
« on: November 19, 2007, 01:46:14 AM »
Hi people

I have a server at work (that is superb lol) but it has 1 very important site on it and a few less important all with their own domains. Problem i have is that from time time these less important 'favours' if you like take up all my upstream bandwidth affectin my important ibay. What i was wondering was is there a way to limit say upstream / downstream bandwidth for each domain so i can set the others to say 40% of capacity so it wont slow my main site.

Hope that makes sense

Ray, Wondershaper cannot distinguish between traffic from different i-bays - it is all port 80 traffic as far as iptables/Wondershaper is concerned.

Note that this is also off-topic for this particular forum.

Sorry Ray if i asked the question and i can see this may be ideal. It looks like i cant restrict by ibay but it may be a help
Again sorry and i should of looked better but seaching for 'throttleing' didnt show anything. Traffic shaping might though
