Network printer - Connection refused
« on: December 19, 2007, 05:29:35 PM »
Hi all

"Printer 'raw@10.0.1.252' - cannot open connection - Connection refused"
when I print from the command line
The printer was installed via sme 7.2 Printer panel.

Update:
(Hope you don't mind - changed the Subject line to something more appropriate.)
Also installed smeserver-lprng-monitor-0.0.7-1 - exactly the same: "Cannot open connection"

Help (please).

To the list admin:

Please remove this thread.
There is an active thread started about the same time with the same printing issue:

I have already replied on that thread.

Many thanks.

Thanks, I did that. I have sort of worked out my problem is the printer(s) in question aren't really print servers as such.
They only accept connections on TCP 9100 and that can't be changed (on the printer)

SME lan printing (at the moment) appears to only cater for TCP 515 - genuine "Print Server" stuff.

Regards,

SME Server is a fantastic product - thank you!
