After a Linux installation, clearly the Windows CD will not be "autoplayed", did you make sure that the bios is set to boot from the CD, and then restart to PC?

In which case i suspect you have a hardware problem, there is no way just installing SMEserver could effect the subsequent installation of Windows, although you should remember that the hard drive will have been re-formatted to a "foreign" format (EXT3), so the Windows installation will need to re-format the hard drive before copying the system across.

You could use a tool like DelPart.exe to make sure there is no existing partition remaining. Needs a bootable DOS disk tho (www.bootdisk.com).

Boot from the SME Server CD in rescue mode and do not mount any filesystems. Then use the fdisk command to delete all partitions. This sovled the problem for me.

From memory, using MS dos (CD boot exit to dos [F3]), the fdisk /mbr command resolves the issue as well.

Failure of a MS product to install after Linux has touched the hardware is just Linux being your friend :)
