Sounds unneccessarily quick to react.
Burn a new CD and/or change the CD drive.
You possess overly judgmental ears RayMitchell.
Quick? This happened Friday afternoon.
Same CD loaded up the ancient server.
Also same CD ran the 'Check ISO' OK on a M$ box.
Allegedly faulty CD DRIVE installed into ancient server
and installed with same CD... OK. There's an input issue
between the PATA/SCSI CD drives and s/w RAID OS drives.
Southbridge possibly. I've a faint hope that a SATA CD
drive might bypass the fault zone, getting the OS back
on the software RAID (single drive as the SATA CD is
taking up the second SATA hookup on the mobo). IF and
only IF that works will I be able to put the second half
of the s/w RAID drive in and let it sync up. Otherwise
I've some very expensive mantlepiece decorations or
door stops. Time to find out now.
ModIndex back and the robots can finally get past the
forbidden flags for their sanctioned directory trawls.
I'll have a go at updating the wiki contribs area after
I've finished the server and site customisations.
----best wishes, Robert
