Almost done, just two problems left.

Hey all, I almost have my server up and running exactly as I want it to.  However I still have two issues I would really like some help resolving.

1) Connecting to FTP either on the local network or remotely takes a long time.  Once connected things seem fine but it takes upwards of 60 seconds to make the initial connection.  The same goes for e-mail.  This is extremely frustrating and my clients shouldn't have to deal with it being this way.  How can I fix this?

2) When a user FTPs in to the server they are placed into their user folder.  How can I fix this so that they instead end up in the ibays for their web site.  I don't want to have to tell them how to get to the right folder, I just want them to log in and be there.

Thanks for any help you guys can give me on this.

For point 2.

Can't they just ftp into the ibay with ftp://ibay@ftp.yourdomain.com/ as per the manual http://www.e-smith.org/docs/manual/5.1/ibaycustdownload.html?

That's certainly how I download items. Do you want them to upload as well? That's a different story, which has been approached a number of different ways in the past. Suggest a good search of the archives for ftp upload if you need it.

Sorry, dunno about the slowness problem.
