Topic: 7.2 Update Problems

I have searched the forums for a similar problem, but did not find anything, so my apologies if this is a repeat.

When I go to the Software Update section, it shows that updates are available.  I run the installer for the listed updates (with the updates selected of course).  After clicking on reconfigure, when the page updates, it shows that I have updates available.  Turns out that they are the list of updates is exactly the same as before.  Every time I try to re-run, I get exactly the same result.  I have performed 'yum clean all', but same problem persist.  I have also rebooted, but that does not fix the problem.

What really makes me nervous is that I am getting failure notices for CLAMAV that it cannot update the db and that I need to update to the latest version!

I am running 7.2

Ate you sure your current version is SME Server 7.2? If so report a bug otherwise if pre SME Server 7.2 have a look at this page http://wiki.contribs.org/Updating_to_SME_7.2#Yum_Update

Yes, it is 7.2 and not the pre-release. The updates were working well until just a couple of weeks ago. I went to the link you suggested and was performing step #4 "yum update", when I got the following error;

The question is this dansguardian component and where did it come from?

Is this a stock SME?

This will show what is non-standard. /sbin/e-smith/audittools/newrpms

Try yum --enablerepo=smecontribs update

Proceed with caution.

Upgrade to SME 7.3

With SME 7.3 ClamAV upgraded libclamav.so.2 to libclamav.so.3, this causes a conflict with Dansguardian.

To solve this upgrade dansguardian from the smecontribs repo at the same time you upgrade to SME 7.3 To add the smecontribs repo, install smeserver-yum first

yum update smeserver-yum
expand-template /etc/yum.conf
yum update --enablerepo=smecontribs dansguardian clamav
yum update 

If you are running 7.3 install dansguardian from smecontribs
