Has anyone tried to install Funambol server on SME?

http://funambol.com

I was looking through the instructions,
http://download.forge.objectweb.org/sync4j/funambol-installation_configuration_guide-v6.5.pdf
It looks fairly simple, I just wonder if it would have any effects on the rest of the server with conflicts in ports etc. It says it uses port 8080, and I know Dansguardian uses that port.

I know I've read a couple of discussions on groupware and also calendaring stuff.. maybe this might be the answer. I'm not sure if there is a web app for it, but I know it does sync up with Outlook and Mobile phones.

I am not sure about this but I think eGroupware uses Funambol (or maybe the predecessor syncml) and it requires PHP 5.

SME 8 ... where are you!

How about using this post to get PHP5 Support

This way, you can run some webapps which requires php5 without upgrading your system to php5.

Thanks goes to VIP-ire

My tests with sync between egroupware and funambol showed it didn't work.
Contacts and calendars are not published back to egroupware. Downloading from EGW works fine.
My tests were done with egw 1.4, cgi-php5 and outlook 2003

If anyone succeded to sync client to egw, please give us some feedback!

amen brother!

I've got a huge calendar that use to sync with my PDA and now syncs with my phone through outlook. It seems that these devices all come back to outlook as a common ground. Now all I need is an online calendar!
