Hi Guys

I need some clarification on a Few Questions Re. RAID

I am Using sme 7.3 with 120Gig Maxtor IDE and a CD Rom Dirive on IDE Channel 0 (120Gig IDE Drive is Master)

My Questions are the Following:

1. If I put a 250Gig Seagate IDE Drive on Channel 1 and Configure it for RAID when will I know that RAID is UP and Running and the System is OK?

2. There are Bad Clusters on the 120Gig Maxtor Drive (IDE Channel 0). If I Shut the Server Down (After Raid is Complete) and Just Remove the Old 120Gig Maxtor will the Server Boot up by Default on the 250 Gig  Seagate? or Must I do Something else to get the New 250Gig Drive to Function Correctly? with all the Data intact.

Please Help as the Server is Having Problems with the Old Drive (I/O Problems)

Have you read the manual, I suggest you do as this is covered there.

Assuming you have done a standard supported drive installation, then login as admin to the console and select the Manage Disk Redundancy option. The rest should be obvious.

After syncing is complete you should be able to remove the old drive & boot to the new drive, in degraded mode.
