I don't know the people working on interchange, I have found some info with the search option, (some advices, a how to).

If you want to see what kind of program is interchange, go to:

http://interchange.redhat.com,

if It doesn't work, try

http://interchange.redhat.com/cgi-bin/ic/index

Go to the demos!!

I finally got it to work this morning (a good nights sleep is all it takes :)) anyways I will work on a How To and post it either later today or tomorrow. This is a really neat script and it sets up a complete web storefront. I tried to set it up in an Ibay however I have not had much luck with that. In the primary directory it works fine (both SME 5.0 and 5.1)

Hello Chris,

os Commerce software works very well on a E-smith server this in combinations whit the standaard MySql database.

We have set up a few shop's thats use this software and make change's to the standaard.

You must think in the manner of PHP an MySql then jou can build nice thinks whith a completed Front-office (the web store) and a back office any where on the world. Whith ODBC to the office applications.

If you have a spcified problem just ask

Hello,

Here it is a short readme from my vinger tips

Download the standaard version 2.1
download the latest CSV's

Unzip /tar the file in a directorie off you WS

Make on you SME server in the primary\html directorie the catalog directorie.

Make in this directorie also the admin directorie

Place all files from you work stations catalog directorie in the primarie\html directorie

Place all files from your workstations admin directori in the admin directori.

Be sure that you have all ready run a web account for the MySql database.

Goto you web brouwser en type http://server.name/catalog/install/

And you come in a install page fill all data

Use the completed www.domein.code voor the naming off your server zo it is working inside als on the internet

For askings off how to make a specify user for the MySql do a search on this server.

This is a littele bit short and i am doning this out off my head the last it was a few weeks ago.

When you have install it and its working go then as first looking what you futher want to do whith the shop/store. Don't install every day the lateste CSV's a lot off you work is then often gone.
Make sure you have a backup of you modified files en off cource the database.

Grtz

Johan

I tried to install oscommerce, this is what I have done

Download tep-pr2.1.tar.gz

tar -xzf tep_catalog-pr2.1.tar.gz

This creates a directory called 'tep_catalog-pr2.1'. Enter this directory and copy the 'catalog' directory to my primary directory of my webserver

Create the 'catalog' database and import the sample data:

   mysqladmin create catalog
   mysql catalog < ./mysql_catalog.sql

To check if the tables have been successfully imported, I can list them by using mysqlshow:

mysqlshow catalog (This is what it shows)
[root@multimtyg1 tep_catalog-pr2.1]# mysqlshow catalog
Database: catalog
+---------------------------------------------+
                  Tables
+---------------------------------------------+
address_book
address_book_to_customers
address_format
categories
configuration
configuration_group
counter
counter_history
countries
currencies
customers
customers_basket
customers_basket_attributes
customers_info
languages
manufacturers
orders
orders_products
orders_products_attributes
products
products_attributes
products_expected
products_options
products_options_values
products_options_values_to_products_options
products_to_categories
reviews
reviews_extra
specials
tax_class
tax_rates
zones
+---------------------------------------------+

And that's all, I'm a complete newbee!! so be gentle!! I don't know or understand what to do next!!!
Thanks for your help!!

I will be relocating turquoise-village.com in the next week or two from a virtual domain on a freeBSD machine to my SME server under the following:  turquoisevillage.com,.net and .org

I will return here with the results.

Using tep-2.1 as you will see if you visit the site.

Cheers!

Lazo,

Why don't you listyen to the answer when you ask for something?

Johan wrote in this thread a small and simple guide how to handle, just gollow it and you will be on the save side... the osCommerce utility is delivered with an install page to simplify and reduce the work neccesarry to install the shop.

For Johan's instructions simple go here:
http://e-smith.org/bboard/read.php?f=1&i=13877&t=13768

For the install instructions of osCommerce take a look at heir site in case you get error messages. Thoroughly search their forums, most of the answeres can be found there.

The osCommerce sit is found at: www.osCommerce.com

Be adviced take the above suggested way, and the shop will be online in a few minutes!

Good luck!

Jonathan

You can view the site at hogz.com temporarily.

OK!

If anyone's a mind to go to hogz.com/admin
and try to insert a new product - I get this:

Warning: open_basedir restriction in effect. File is in wrong directory in /home/e-smith/files/ibays/tv/html/admin/categories.php on line 307

I'm quite stumped.

Anyone? Anyone?

Thanks
