Okay, I searched but found nothing related to this. Not sure how to search - used name miss match and user miss match

I have an email user that I created the usual way with the web interface. Jane Doe is jdoe@......org However, when she sends to someone they show her as John Doe (jdoe@.....org) I've looked at the ldap entry, the user accounts, etc but can't find where it is wrongly pulling her name.  We DID have a John Doe a long time ago who had the account jdoe but shouldn't all the pieces of his account have gone away when we removed his account? Any ideas of where it might be crosslinked with his old account? Except for the name identification it acts normal in every way.

I can delete and recreate her but am more concerned that this might be a precursor to bigger issues. Before I move her mail, delete her account, and recreate a  new one I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced this. I am guessing I would have to create an account that has a different naming convention.

This should be reported in the bugtracker to be followed up by the devs and not in the forums.

There's a few possibilities here. One is that whatever email program she is using to send email is configured with the From address set to "John Doe ...". The other is that the recipient's address book already has an entry for jdoe@... and is displaying that. If it's the latter problem, you can't fix it - it's a bug in the recipient's email program.

I found the answer.  It seems that the user defined name under options was listed as John. Not sure how that happened but changing it corrected the name to the correct one.
