How do I stop E-Smith responding to http calls?
« on: April 16, 2002, 02:50:52 AM »
I have a e-smith/mitel server installed in what i suspect is a fairly common situation.

My domain is hosted elsewhere, but the MX record is pointed to a fixed IP provided by my ISP, which means that my machine's name is mail.tonsyl.org (as an example).

For the rest of the world going to http://www.tonsyl.org will take them to the "real" hosted site, but computers on the same internal network as th ee-smith server get directed to the primary http site on the e-smith box.

I've gone into the web admin page and tolds the box not to respond to http, but it still does.

What have I missed? How do I stop the e-smith box from "intercepting" internal network calls for http://www.tonsyl.org and let them pass through to the outside world?

Edit the Hostnames and Addresses - www  to point to the address of your real site. Might take a little while for your caches to clear.
