SME version 8 which MTA postfix or qmail

which type of email MTA is SME 8 going to use qmail or postfix just wondering is qmail is old and not many update but postfix is newer

I have set qmail up myself many times along with postfix. I have had much better success with qmail in terms of performance etc. Postfix is easier to setup IMO, but, the extra effort for qmail is totally worth it. qmail is old because it doesn't need to be updated.

i have had a look at qmail there are a lot of config files in it seeing you have setup qmail i have heard that qmail toaster makes things easy is this true
will qmail work with mailscanner and dovecot

I don't understand why you are asking these questions in this forum. SME server uses qmail, but you do not have to know about any config files; they are all set up for you already. SME server also includes spam and virus scanning of email, and uses dovecot.

SME server does not use qmailtoaster. It has existed and has used qmail since before qmailtoaster existed.

To answer your original question, SME8 has not been converted to use postfix instead of qmail. If you search you will see that the issue has been discussed many times.

Thank you that is what a wanted to know
so SME server will stay with qmail for the Foreseeable future

Thanks again i have to say contribs forum are very helpful people and i would have to say the money i have donated to SME is well worth it

AFAIK the money you have donated only supports operation of the contribs.org website -  I'm not aware of donations being used to fund SME server development.
