Just tested at my sme 7.3:

[root@sme73guest ~]# rpm -q php
php-4.3.9-3.22.9

And the requirement was 4.3.3 so it should be met by sme 7.3

I would rather do a complete upgrade to 7.3

This should work http://smemirror.fullnet.co.uk/releases/7/iso/i386/

smeserver-7.3-i386.iso

I use to do an upgrade by first making a backup to workstation, then install the new version, and then a restore from workstation to the new installation. You can also do a upgrade from the installation CD, but you should anyhow make a backup of the datas first.
