Wake up on LAN
« on: April 14, 2008, 09:37:03 AM »
Hi Forum

Is there a 'How to', 'setup', 'configure' for Wake up on LAN for the SME?

Best regards

Hi

your question is not clear:

do you want SME to wake up or use SME to wake up clients?

Ciao

You would generally set that up that in BIOS.

Since SME Server never goes to sleep on its own, this is probably an irrelevant question. However, wake-up on MODEM is something I have found useful to turn on a remote server that occasionally got shut down, just by phoning it up.

Thank you for your answer. Normally he should not go down - but if the SME Server is based in China where the electric will be switched off one, two, three times a week and the admin is in holiday - than it is recommendable to have wake up on LAN :)

Best regards
