Increase disk space by adding another drive

I am running 7.3, with one hard disk 500GB IDE (hda)

I want to add another 500GB IDE disk (same make etc as current one) so that my disk capacity would be 1TB (hdc). Is this possible? and if so could I have some pointers please.

Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it. I had not found that, I had been searching with "add 2nd (& second) Hard disk". "Extra Hard Disk" I had not tried.

Thank you for the link, I will give it a try.
