Hi.  I think it's important for SME Server to tackle the issue of Windows Vista - getting Vista to work with SME Server as smoothly as XP does now.  To that end I would like to donate an unactivated OEM copy of  Vista Business to the developers so that they can install it and iron out the many bugs.  It's a 64 bit version.  Would anyone on the dev team benefit from this donation?

I guess they will, I would certainly like to help them with it, but I do also not have a Vista license, best bet is to launch a bug in the bug tracker to draw their attention.

I have the DVD, the licence key, and it's never been activated.  I think very useful for one of the devs.

I spoke to the core devs and they do have a lot of other stuff on their minds, however I am willing to work on the bugs concerning Vista and would love your DVD and license for that.

Did the OEM license come with specific hardware? As it might be that it is of little use if it does a check for the proper hardware on installation...

Microsoft changed the rules regarding OEM versions of Windows.  At the moment the licence does not belong to any hardware.  Once it is installed and activated on a computer, it then belongs to that computer and cannot be installed somewhere else.  This copy has never been activated, but once it is, it can't be used anywhere else.  It would be great for a dedicated test computer.
