Topic: QPSMTPD Permissions

Hi

The last few days I have been dealing with an error where the "permissions on /var/spool/qpsmtpd are not 700"

Easy enough to fix, but can't figure what has caused this - started on 7.2 and continued after an upgrade to 7.3 yesterday.

When rebooted the error recurs and mail delivery obviously stops. Any suggestions on the sudden cause of this?

There is nothing to deal with. The permissions on /var/spool/qpsmtpd are not 700, nor should they be. If you change them to 0700, then virus scanning will break.

How have you "been dealing with" this "error"?

Thanks for the response. I simply chmod'd it as required.

As to the 'bug' report, I didn't perceive it to be a bug as it could have been a misconfiguration on my part.  No-one else seemed to 'me too' it in 6 months and it's not been an issue for me, was just a simple question as it did 'just work'
