Outlook 2003 and LDAP address book
« on: August 27, 2008, 11:29:42 PM »
Hi!

Outlook 2003 address book doesn't list the contents of the LDAP directory, unless you search for a specific name or wildcard, then the name/names are displayed.  How do I get it to show all names when the address book opens it?

Neither does mine :-(

Then again, neither does Outlook Express for me, even if I search a known term I get no results. I've put it down to being a compatibility problem (I've come across SO many stupid problems like this with MS stuff) that I've ended up not using LDAP. :-?

I had the exact same issue my self on a with a customer and a production server ... Google located this link for me and it solved my problem http://wiki.wsu.edu/wsuwiki/Fix_Outlook_2003_Phonebook_Issue

Hope it works for you

Unfortunately your solution has not helped. He does not solve output ALL users without pressing "Find" and so further.....
I have reconsidered all internet - solution is not present: (Probably to substitute built in Address Book on other program?

I go on other path

1). Create any Address Book in Outlook.

2). As I have Global Address Book from M $ Exchange - I export it in.CSV file

3). Save export Global Address Book it in shared i-bay (Group = Everyone), (Write=admin, Read=Group)

4). To any users becomes Import Address Book in "Contacts" Outlook 2003 book - see all default names (via CTRL-SHIFT-B)

P/S. Any codepage and charsets its possible

Answering to my question: Toltec LDAP address book solves questions. But it not shareware

LDAP has not provided to me the necessary operation (russian CP1251 code page and translation).
