ISDN Dial-Up triggered by DNS
« on: May 06, 2002, 12:38:41 PM »
Hi All

I have a SME server set up with ISDN support. The problem I am experiencing is that it seems to dial up every couple of minutes , even though it is configured to only dial up every 30 minutes. The following section of the log seems to indicate a DNS query triggering the dial up.

>>diald[1034]: Trigger: udp         10.1.1.50/61710     196.38.110.1/53 <<

Has anyone encountered a similar problem ? If so, how do I disable any DNS queries as a trigger for dial up without breaking anything else ?

Hi,

Quick 30 second reply:

Disconnect SME from your network: 99.99% sure it won't dial now.

Your problem: someone one your network is dialing out.
Suspect: spyware:

Go look at www.lavasoft.nu and clean all your systems.

You might even find some of Bill Gates goodies that are calling home!

good luck
