PROLIANT ML110 G5 Storage Controller Question
« on: October 02, 2008, 06:44:38 PM »
I've looked around in the forum and can't seem to find an answer so if you have any input I would really aprreciate it.

I am currently looking to move my SME server box from an old P4 computer to a more robust system I am leaning towards the HP Proliant ML110 G5. But am a bit weary of SME support for the HP SC40Ge Host Bus Adapter with Raid 0 Raid 1 with 2 new 72GB SAS HDD.

Has anyone had experience with this Storage Controller?  If anyone does I would appreciate some feedback before I jump In.

Thanks in advance

David

you can check his linux compatibility on HP's site..

if that server is certified for redhat 4.X you'd have no problem at all

Thanks Stefano,

It seems to be supported by Red Hat EL 4. So I'm thinking I'll take the plunge.

Grazie

I am running a HP Proliant ML150 G5.

Excellent machine.  No complaints what so ever.

Not on answer for your question on the specific storagecontroller, but last week I installed 7.3 on a ML110G5 with the standard SATA controller. Works perfect.

Thanks to everyone. I finally opted for the same model with the standard SATA controller, and installation went smoothly with tow 160gb DR in RAID 1
