Topic: Block Windows Live Messenger

Hi all,

I need to block windows live messenger while still allowing access to hotmail.

I've tried many things suggested on various websites, blocking mimetype/iptables ports ...but messenger will still connect.

I can stop it by blocking live.com, but then that stops hotmail too.

Anyone got any ideas how i can stop messenger from running ? Needs to be on the server with squid/dansguardian.

Don't worry, fixed it.

Forgot to restart iptables. Messenger is now blocked on our network
