I am complete novice with Linux unfortunatelly!
I have installed SME V5 server and am impresseed - set up printers and they work better than on NT4.
Only trouble is that I connot connect to the Internet - when I do Test the Internet from the console - nothing happens and a message comes tah fails to connect to Internet.
I have internal Motorola PCI modem initially tried comm 3, but then all comm ports - nothing happens.
I am using dial up connection to Freeserve (in the UK).
(I must say that I tried with external USR Courier modem before and it did not work).
Anyone can tell me what to do - I am stuck - cannot install the e-mail or internet access.
Shall I run the installation again (with the Motorola modem) in order set up to recignise it (I originaly installed SME server with the USR modem, than swapped it with the internal Motorola).
I am not familiar with Linux in order to do anything more than the set up procedure form the console. I tried various AT initialisation comands etc with no luck.
