Topic: e-smith with internal ISDN

Hi,

I'm thinking of using e-smith as my home server / gateway.  I have BT home highway and connect using an Asuscom internal PCI ISDN card.  What is the state of development with ISDN at the moment?  Is dial on demand (also for DNS) and auto hangup,  working?  Does e-smith use ipppd?

There is litle problem yet that internal ISDN is only desingned for 1 Channel (64K).

At the moment single channel ISDN is fine as dual channel is expensive in the uk.

I'm also thinking of trying to get freinds who run a small local business to use e-smith with ISDN too.  I'll be paid in organically grown potatos and carrots!

It costs rather more, but try to persuade them to use an ISDN router device instead of a terminal adaptor or internal card - the Zyxel Prestige 202 or even one of the Compaq devices that CMC are flogging off. You get the full firewall facilities of e-smith and virtually zero setup time.
