Topic: Intel Motherboards for 7.3

I have poked around the different lists etc, finding a real wide range of what people are using, however not a list that shows supported Intel boards.

For our basic windows office workstations we use the Intel DQ35JO Intel® Q35 LGA775 microATX
It has worked well.

Have done a few installs of SME 7.x to same board using the "pci=nommconf" in the kernel, and  they seem to work.

I however believe there is likely an Intel board (that is not obsolete) that may be a better candidate.

I also had been adding the MRSSubraids, but believe SME 7.3 handles replacing a failed drive easier, so am looking at going back to software raid.

Any feedback of what you are using for INTEL Boards / CPU appreciated.

All the Intel boards I've used (945 chipsets) need the pci=nommconf switch in the kernel in order for the install to happen and the server to boot.

SME 7.3 is based on Centos 4.5, which is a recompile of RHEL 4.  RHEL supported hardware is listed here:

I have gone to that site before.
Tried a search for INTEL or ASUS no mainboards come up - is that to be taken as none supported?

Red Hat only lists certified hardware, rather than all compatible products.

What "better" are you looking for ? That's a good motherboard for sme & Windows and works with sme 8 too.
