What sort of ADSL device will you be using? I am using the Alcatel SpeedTouch (provided by KPN in the Netherlands) which I have configured as a PAT/Router. The hack to do this is well documented. Go to
www.google.com and search on Alcatel SpeedTouch. You can then open up some pinholes for each of the desired services. See
http://www.nzdsl.co.nz/howtos/Alcatel/alcatelpinholing.html.
The only downside that I have found is that ftp does not seem to work when I try to access my server using its fqdn as know from the outside. I think that something is going heywire with the FTP protocol itself.
I have wondered if there is a solution to originate at PPTP tunnel on the e-smith server such that I can essentially pull the PPP session from my providers BAS through the ATM cloud into the CPE and then through a PPTP tunnel into the e-smith server. I guess you would treat this as an dialup connection that was always-on..
Anybody every tried the later idea?

Mark
