leafnode issue on sme 7.3
« on: November 21, 2008, 08:40:20 AM »
Greetings,

I dont believe this is a bug hence why I am posting this here.

I'm running sme 7.3 with all the updates. Recently I installed leafnode as per the instructions here..:
Code: [Select]
http://wiki.contribs.org/Leafnode
I checked and rechecked all the commands. At the time a
Code: [Select]
telnet localhost 119
worked okay.

Now, some time later, it bombs out like this..:
Code: [Select]
[root@dugong ~]# telnet localhost 119
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
200 Leafnode NNTP Daemon, version 1.11.6 running at localhost (my fqdn: dugong.xxxxxxx.xxx.xxx)
Connection closed by foreign host.

I looked in the nntp log file and found the following..:
Code: [Select]
2008-11-21 17:56:51.326047500 tcpsvd: info: pid 26782 from 127.0.0.1
2008-11-21 17:56:51.326052500 tcpsvd: info: concurrency 26782 127.0.0.1 1/4
2008-11-21 17:56:51.326056500 tcpsvd: info: start 26782 0:127.0.0.1 ::127.0.0.1:33235 ./peers/127.0.0.1
2008-11-21 17:56:51.383690500 malloc(2033640) failed: allocating active
2008-11-21 17:56:51.387373500 tcpsvd: info: end 26782 exit 1
2008-11-21 17:56:51.387382500 tcpsvd: info: status 0/40

I can post the full log file if required.

What's a 'malloc' and how do I fix the problem. Leafnode is also refusing connections from machine on the local network, as well as localhost.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Louis
