Login Time to Webmail
« on: November 23, 2008, 10:55:13 PM »
Hi,

My mailbox currently has over 2000 emails in it. I've noticed that it takes a significantly longer time for me to login via webmail than other users with less mail. When I login, I've also noticed that the server hard drive is working increadibly hard. I have it set to only show the first 30 messages when I login. Has anyone else come accross this and know of a solution? I've just noticed this same problem when logging in via roundcube webmail as well.

Anyway arround this or do I need to start archiving to another folder?

This is because Horde is looking at your entire inbox, with its 2000 messages, in order to figure out which 30 to display.  Remember, there is more than one way Horde/IMP can sort messages:  e.g. by date, by sender, by subject, etc.

You ever hear of mail folders?   They are used for more than archiving.
