Horde troubles after upgrade to 7.4
« on: November 24, 2008, 11:41:10 AM »
Hi all,
Before filing a bug, may I ask if anyone is having issues with Horde, in particular user address books, after upgrading from 7.3 to 7.4?

I received this just after upgrading:
Quote
A fatal error has occurred. You must configure a DataTree backend to use Shares.
What does this mean?
Currently user address books are missing, but Local LDAP is available.

The only reference to this error message in the forums is this legacy thread:
Quote
http://forums.contribs.org/index.php/topic,35084.msg152675.html#msg152675
However, as opposed to the poster, we can access horde - it's the missing user address books that are the issue. This legacy link proposed first uninstalling them reinstalling imp and horde.

Regards,

SME Server is a fantastic product - thank you!

Have you got any Horde contribs installed? If so, have you upgraded them to match the later version in 7.4?

davidiwharper,

Yes, I did install Horde contribs in the past - Notes, Calendar & Todo.
However, I did this yesterday after the upgrade:
Quote
yum update --enablerepo=smecontribs
signal-event post-upgrade
signal-event reboot

The following from # yum list:
Quote
e-smith-horde.noarch          4.0.0-1.el4.sme        installed
horde.noarch                     3.2.2-1.el4.sme        installed

e-smith-turba.noarch          3.0.0-1.el4.sme        installed
turba-h3.noarch                 2.2.1-1.el4.sme        installed
e-smith-ingo.noarch            2.0.0-1.el4.sme        installed
ingo-h3.noarch                  1.2.1-1.el4.sme        installed
mnemo-h3.noarch              2.2.1-1.el4.sme        installed
smeserver-mnemo.noarch    2.2-2.el4.sme          installed
kronolith-h3.noarch            2.2-1.el4.sme          installed
smeserver-kronolith.noarch  2.2-1.el4.sme          installed
e-smith-imp.noarch            5.0.0-1.el4.sme        installed
imp-h3.noarch                   4.2-1.el4.sme          installed
nag-h3.noarch                   2.2-1.el4.sme          installed
smeserver-nag.noarch         2.2-1.el4.sme          installed

Does the above indicate a problem? - forgive if I'm missing the answer, but I've not had to resolve this sort of thing with sme before.
SME Server is a fantastic product - thank you!

Well, that is a bit outside my experience level then :-?

Sounds like one for the bug tracker, but be sure to post (in the tracker) the results of /etc/e-smith/audittools/newrpms.

davidiwharper , sorry to correct, but that should be:
/sbin/e-smith/audittools/newrpms
Thanks for pointing that out.

Submitted a bug report, including the output of the above:
http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4784#c0

Edit on 25 Nov 08
Bugzilla asked to split the issue into 3 bugs. See hereunder
1) "Horde troubles after upgrading from fully patched and working 7.3 to 7.4"
http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4784
Note: 4784 has been resolved (for my client, I might add) by removing a custom template in Horde - it was intended to provide a "Global Address Book"
YMMV

2) "Horde Spell Check behaviour after 7.3 to 7.4 upgrade"
http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4790

3) "Horde user Address Book  loss after 7.3 to 7.4 upgrade"
http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4791

<head><title>Horde :: Fatal Error</title></head>
<body style="background:#fff; color:#000"><h1>A fatal error has occurred</h1><h3>You must configure a DataTree backend to use Shares.</h3><h3>Details have been logged for the administrator.</h3></body>

Nop, i had readed the bug report that you create but like a says before i have no problems with adress books and all seems to work fine but i still get this mail.
but i browse template-custom and find this :
Quote
templates-custom/home/httpd/html/horde/config/prefs.php/200personal
but i dont create this custom template, so i dont know whats do, editing this file seems like the default settings for all users, so you think thats maybe this custom template is the problem?
thanks
bye

I new to SME, so I don't know if what I now say is correct. I looked at another server where Horde is installed but not used. There are no custom templates at all.

On our box where we have an issue, there were also none originally, as far as I can recall. But I put a 200personal there - was trying to set default category colors. I'm might remove this also.

Bye,

@lucho115: try to see the result of

Code: [Select]
/sbin/e-smith/audittools/templates

you should be able to understand what's going on.. if not, please raise a bug.

Ciao
Stefano

You are correct about the prefs.php file.  Whatever you set in prefs.php are the default user settings.  If you still want to use that custom template, you should check to make sure that no items were added or removed from that section.  Whenever you see a datatree error, it always has something to do with one of the *.conf files.  The error should indicate which one it is.  When do you get this error?

To me, this usually indicates that a signal-event post-upgrade ; signal-event reboot was not performed.  I'd do this, then come back to the forum or post a bug.

OK, this is the out of /sbin/e-smith/audittools/templates
Quote
/etc/e-smith/templates-custom/home/e-smith/ssl.crt: MANUALLY_ADDED, OVERRIDE
/etc/e-smith/templates-custom/home/httpd/html/horde/config/prefs.php/200personal: MANUALLY_ADDED, OVERRIDE
/etc/e-smith/templates-custom/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf/20LoadModule80mod_dav: MANUALLY_ADDED, OVERRIDE
/etc/e-smith/templates-custom/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf/95AddModDav2ibays: MANUALLY_ADDED, ADDITION
/etc/e-smith/templates-custom/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf/35DavLock: MANUALLY_ADDED, OVERRIDE
/etc/e-smith/templates-custom/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf/75BrowserMatchMod_Dav: MANUALLY_ADDED, ADDITION

So its looks fine, or no?
any way if i want delete this template, just delete the file o r a have to run any command?

You need to check your custom-template versus what is in the template fragment.  Sometimes there are additions or deletions to the templates based on the horde releases.

The current horde add-ons will and do work for horde 3.2 and above.

Do you have the log from when you did the last post-upgrade ; reboot?  I'd like to see the mysql.init portion.  Please also check http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4791, comments 9 and 10 and see if that applies to you.

I'm kind of getting lost in this thread, are you still getting errors about a datatree backend for shares?  If not, please re-post exactly what your issue is.

John
