Topic: SME 7.3 - printer problem after installing hylafax *SOLVED*

SME 7.3 Box installed with RVA cups. Went fine - no problem at all. Decided to install hylafax and SMERPFax. Everything o.k. except printing. No chance to print on my printers. Not able to access the Cups-Interface on serverip:631. De-installed hylafax, SMERPFax and cups. Installed e-smith-lprng with yum. Was astonished, that cups also (as a dependency) was installed. Created a (raw-) printer in the server-panel. Not able to print from a winxp (sp3) workstation. Tried to install RVA cups. Removed e-smith-lprng. Not able to access the cups-interface.

Anybody out there running a SME 7.3 with (RVA-) CUPS and Hylafax?

Sounds like this might be destined for the bug tracker.

You need to provide more information. Seems to me you are having configuration problems, SMERFax will only allow you to use the ttys0 ou ttys1 ports, if these ports were already setup for the printer, then there's your problem. If you need to use some other port for fax (I use ttys5 on a internal modem), then you need to edit hylafax.conf manually.
Basic troubleshooting will be checking logs after request a service from either application.

Modem is running on ttyS0. Hylafax is 4.3.4-1. Cups is the RVA version. Well the point to me is, that hylafax and SMERPFax have been running. I was able to receive and send faxes. e-mail to fax also no problem. User notifiying with attached pdf o.k. The Box was working perfect - except of cups. Nobody was able to print. And the cups interface was not accessable.

Again the question, is there anybody running a SME 7.3 box with cups, hylafax and SMERPFax. Which versions of cups, hyla and SMERPFax exactly?
