Billing software
« on: December 12, 2008, 05:53:49 AM »
Hi All

Is there a addon for billing software that can be added to SARK/SME and how is it easy to administer?

I'm looking at setting it up for our family to use remote ATA's around Australia and the UK.

I am new to SAIL SME Server v8b6 and have been using SME for many years.
I have already done some research and only ask questions if I still can't work it out.

How did the install/test go if you know?  I'm interested in some sort of billing software if you can give me a little guidance in the right direction.

Thanks

Our view hasn't really changed.  In general, for the vast majority of people, post-production billing is perfectly adequate.  It's only if you are intending to run a hotel or a pre-pay/card billing solution that you would need an on-line/near-time solution.  Here in the UK there are lots of organizations (some small some not so small) who can take your CDR data and produce billing for you.

Right now, unless/until someone funds it, we won't be rushing to do anything with integrated billing.  For most small operations it's easier to just download the CDRs' into Excel and then you can do whatever you wish with them in terms of pricing and agregation.

Best
