7.4 won't boot to CD
« on: December 15, 2008, 05:25:40 AM »
Hi all

I'm trying to diagnose this.
I can download and burn SME 7.3 and install with no problem, but for some reason the 7.4 version will not boot to the CD. I figured a bad burn or download was my first thought.

I downloaded smeserver-7.4-i386.iso
And also tried smeserver.iso which I believe is the same thing same file size etc.20-Nov-2008 11:03  587M

And then tried a fresh download and burn again.I did this a few times. The CD started the isolinux text line as with all the other installations, but then just freezes. And the CD seems to be trying to find something spinning up then slowing down etc., but then I get a boot error message.

But with 7.3 it just boots and starts the installation process as normal.

Has anyone else had any problems with 7.4 iso
Please advise.

Ok, I was not sure if this was a bug, I wanted to see if anyone had this problem before I post a bug report.

Thanks,

I believe you should know better by now. You have been told this story many times. Please report bugs or suspected default features (that just should work) to the bugtracker. Don't be bothered that it might not really be a bug as we can always close it and direct you to the forums. This way all information is in the best place for developers and your changes to being served by the experts are the highest.
