Cacti - no list of interfaces to graph traffic
« on: December 17, 2008, 04:37:51 AM »
Good day,

I downloaded the cacti add-on because I would like to see how much internet traffic goes through the SME server. It is linked via eth1 to an ADSL router. However when I try to add a new graph, there are no interface options available. I can see the graph templates for four interface options.

There are four graphs included - memory usage, load average, and processes display data. Logged in users is blank.

I found one set of messages on the cacti forum about adjusting a snmpd.conf but I don't have that file on my system. And don't know the minimal configuration. I find the cacti forum is a bit overwhelming as it discussed graph setup but I'd just like to add a basic graph.

Your assistance would be appreciated. Perhaps just a link to instrucitons on how to set up a eth? graph. Since cacti is new to me, I'm not sure what to expect to be there and what needs to be done by the user.
