I am confused, I thought the whole idea of raid was that a single drive failure would not bring down the whole system.
So what went wrong? Did the system not performed as designed? I hope it has nothing to do with SME itself not functioning as designed.

Please enlighten us on what happened and how can we prevent similar from happening on our systems.

It didn't as per the announcement thread it was a major hardware failure.

Please see the other threads in the general discussion as there is a slightly more information, and please could we keep threads to minimum. Thanks.

Moving this topic to the General Discussion forum, it is more appropriate there. Thanks!

I know it was a hardware failure, my point was, if SME server has raid, drive failure should not effect it. SME should be able to function properly with a drive down. Unless all the drives went dead at he same time, which is hard to imagine.

Or the hardware controlling the drives???
