Newbie in linux.

can i try without the threat of efficiency of SME

or any other command eg 'modprobe' ?

A major accounting program in Russia is 1C(1c.ru). It is protected by HASP keys (LPT or USB).
My server will be used in small businesses.

Below i repeat in Russian for my colleagues in Russia.

The report on the results:
1. Package akspalnx... , latest versions 1.6 and 1.7, contains ONLY
sources that are compiled during install to binary module for the current kernel.
This requires some sources of current kernel, which are not included in SME server.
It is to complex for my .
Last binary modules found in aksparlnx-redhat-1.05-1.i386.rpm - are for kernel 2.4.18
(There ftp://ftp.aladdin.com/pub/hasp/new_releases/linux/HDD_RPM_RedHat_i386_AllDrv.tar.gz)

2. akspalnx has 1 dependency - aksusbd. aksusbd has no dependencies.
aksusbd contains 3 modules: aksusbd (probably usb HASP driver), hasplmd
(license manager) and winehasp (?). version aksusbd-redhat-1.14-3.i386.rpm
 ftp://ftp.aladdin.com/pub/hasp/srm/Linux/HASP_SRM_LINUX_3.50_RedHat_RPM_Run-time_Installer.tar.gz
successfully installed on SME 7.4 and all modules successfully start.
Can't check their work because have no USB HASP.

Now I have 2 ways:
1. ask someone to compile the package, or at least the module aksparlnx
under 2.6.69 EL (ie, under the SME 7.4. in the last 2 numbers are not quite sure)
2. to change LPT-HASP to USB-HASP (this is possible for registered
users. wait time is few days ... or weeks) and take from 1C-franchisee
a USB-hasp for my 1C77 "complex cfg" at this time ...

1. Пакет akspalnx... последних версий 1.6 и 1.7 содержит ТОЛЬКО
исходники, из которых в процессе установки собирается бинарный модуль под текущее ядро.
Для этого нужны исходники текущего ядра, которых в установленном SME
нет и которые надо ставить. К этому я пока не готов.
Последние найденные бинарные модули в aksparlnx-redhat-1.05-1.i386.rpm - для ядра 2.4.18
(тут ftp://ftp.aladdin.com/pub/hasp/new_releases/linux/HDD_RPM_RedHat_i386_AllDrv.tar.gz)

2. akspalnx имеет 1 зависимость - aksusbd. aksusbd зависимостей не
имеет. содержит 3 модуля: aksusbd (видимо, драйвер ключа), hasplmd
(менеджер лицензий) и wine ( ? ). версия aksusbd-redhat-1.14-3.i386.rpm

успешно установилась на SME 7.4 и все модули успешно стартуют.
Проверить рабоу не могу, т.к. нет USB HASP.

Теперь у меня 2 пути:
1. просить кого-то собрать пакет или, как минимум, модуль aksparlnx
под 2.6.69 EL (т.е. под SME 7.4. в последних 2х цифрах не совсем уверен )
2. менять в 1C LPT-HASP на USB-HASP (это возможно. ждать несколько
дней... или недель), а на это время брать у франчайзи временно
USB-hasp под мою комплексную 1C77...

Буду рад, если этот текст кому-то пригодится.

Timol, the best way for your learn is install vmware in a windows (or whatever you want) machine, and then install SME 7.4 only for compiling and testing purposes. Then you can download the kernel-devel packages and the development tools for compiling and also make your own rpm packages.
