Tip : http://forums.contribs.org/index.php/topic,44884.0.html

I've looked over the list of instructions.  Though it's all in German, the instructions to follow seem clear enough.  Is it known whether or not this upgrade causes any issues with the rest of SME Server's functionality?

interesting but could you please translate in english?

thank you

Here's what I was able to translate using online resources:

Quote
Dear brethren,

In the coming days, Windows7 will be delivered to its customers.  During my job at the Fraunhofer Institute in Magdeburg, I was recently're trying out the RTM.

What brought me to W7 with our SME7 test.

Initial tests, however, went less well, it was simply not possible to accede to the domain.

Today I found the right solution.

First, you need a little update for your Samba, unfortunately there is not yet an official for the SME. After a long search but I have found the perfect package.

login on the console:

mkdir samba3
cd samba3
wget ftp://ftp.sernet.de/pub/samba/experimental/centos/4/i386/libwbclient0-3.4.2-40.el4.i386.rpm
wget ftp://ftp.sernet.de/pub/samba/experimental/centos/4/i386/samba3-client-3.4.2-40.el4.i386.rpm
wget ftp://ftp.sernet.de/pub/samba/experimental/centos/4/i386/samba3-3.4.2-40.el4.i386.rpm

local yum install *. rpm

Now, unfortunately, must be the neustart: (ie

  signal-event post-upgrade; signal-event reboot

That's it for our SME.

In W7, we still need 2 small REG messages.

HKLM \ System \ CCS \ Services \ LanmanWorkstation \ Parameters
   DWORD DomainCompatibilityMode = 1
   DWORD DNSNameResolutionRequired = 0

of these changes and a reboot, you can join your domain.

Another reboot and you W7 will work with our SME.

Attention:  All of this is seen experimentally and everyone makes their own risk.

But it works perfectly:)

 regards

 Marcel
