I am using the 20x4 display mounted in the Tux mounting plate

and lcdproc to drive the unit

RPM is compiled only to support the CrystalFontz 20x4 display unit

at the moment I have all of the displays rotating around but you can change the config file to only display one.

When installed starts as a server job on boot

from memory isnt that a parallel port device ?

Seem to recall some reason i didnt use lcdproc maybe it didnt support my display. Mine goes on the serial port.

I display uptime and time then load averages and processes.

This one is a serial device http://www.crystalfontz.com/products/634bracket/index.html

Software is configured to run the device from com2

I am in the process of getting a how-to written.

It will list all of the part numbers and the options on the software

I have a couple of servers one with the display mounted in the front and the other with the display mounted on my office wall.

Hi there,

I downloaded the lcdproc rpm and installed it, the backlight does go on but I get no information what so ever. On the top left I see a blinking cursor (or block).
The LCD tested is a Crystalfontz 634 (including bracket and tux!) with the new firmware, serial speed at 19200.

Yes, I still do!. I suspect it is a hardware problem ( with the lcd) changed serial cable no go, tested lcd on a windows system with test utility from crystalfontz same problem. Oh well I will keep you informed as soon as I receive my new display.
Thnx for your reply,

Herc.

I will be uploading a new version to my server within the next 48hrs

http://www.drbig.co.uk/sdownload/index.php?op=showfiles&catid=1

This version now matches the lcdproc version numbering

Also have added support for the mtxorb and hd44780

I am unable to test the above drivers as I only have the cfontz display
