Restore not working [Solved]
« on: May 17, 2009, 02:51:36 PM »
I had my server die over the weekend so I built myself another one and have tried to do a restore without success. I was using the built in backup to workstation function to backup to local usb drives. I have a rotation of two drivers, but I "killed" the first backup as I had it plugged in when I was installing the new server (a trap for young players).

So I then tried my other backup drive after a fresh install and whilst the initial installation restore could see the drive, it would not do the restore. So I have then tried to do a restore from the Server Manager, but this time I am getting the error message:
Quote
Unable to mount workstation shared folder mount: can't find /media/Backup in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

I have checked /etc/fstab and there is an entry for /media/Backup and can get the drive to mount by using the command mount /media/Backup Could so one please point me in the right direction on how to restore my server.

Thanks

I have posted bug http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5256 including the exact process I have been through, I hope someone can help, I don't have a server until such time as I get this resolved.

I have already looked through that, as I can mount and see the drive fine, it just won't restore.

Thanks for the help though.

Mary,

Again thank you for taking the time to provide the assistance. I have been able to do a restore through server-manager and if you read the bug it tells you more about it how I eventually got it to work.
