I also like Ekiga and Kiax.
Under Linux, there is this excellent softphone supporting both sip and iax:
http://www.sflphone.org/. It is developped here in Montreal!
Under anything a Firefox plugin for iax:
http://moziax.mozdev.org/installation.htmlAnd the next one on my test list is Pidgin with this SIP plugin:
http://sipe.sourceforge.net/download/ [edited: not a phone. Forget I said that!]
Thanks for the note about SIP Communicator. You might want to check Qutecom for a similar software.
Selection criterias are looking like this:
- sip
and/or iax
- presence
- video
- usability with usb devices
- localizations
I'm surprised to see that softphones are not that much in use, and I guess it explains why so many softphone projects are not active anymore. I looks like a cell phone with DISA on the PBX does the job.
For now, I'll focus on presence and USB devices...
Many thanks to you all who took some time to follow this thread!
