Hi,
Could someone take me through the exact way to set up the sme server as an email server. I have had it working fine with a dial up modem and multidrop box on the isp. I now want to start using my dedecated ADSL connection to email serve.

Heres what i have done.

Remove 56k modem,
install second NIC
Install dynalink rta20 router - hook this straight up to server nic.

Ip addresses are set up as

server local nic  192.168.235.1
server external nic 192.168.1.2
dynalink rta20 router 192.168.1.1

Internet access is working fine.
i have had the isp amend the dns records to point to our ip address.
When I send mail to ourselves from yahoo the mail doesn't bounce back.
I have tired to setup pinholes on the router I'm not really sure I have all the port numbers etc right tho.

Any help would be appreciated

thanks

The only port you need to pinhole through on your ADSL router for mail is the SMTP port 25. On the server-manager under Email retrieval set mode to standard,
and under Other Email settings set to public or private depending on what you want. You are all done. Set your mail client (Outlook or whatever) to point at your domain or check for mail with the webmail.
