Nagios messing up ibays rights!
« on: August 03, 2009, 08:36:31 PM »
Yesterday I installed Nagios as per the wiki and Nagios installation went well and Nagios interface is alive. So far so good!

BUT somehow this installation has fu... up the file rights on all the ibays and I now get a 403 (Access denied) on all ibays and hence all virtual domains running on the server. It seems that all HTTP rights are now also controlled by the "User access via file sharing or user ftp" setting which is surely wrong. If I set read to Everyone I can see the ibays via HTTP but I cannot store anything (via Joomla or other CMS system).

I can see that nagios added itself to the www group which might be the reason even though I cannot see the connection.

Anyone - I am in a tight spot having to go live tomorrow with new company.

Please - good ideas are welcome..

Rgds,
Jesper

OK - uninstalled all packages which was part of the install but that was not enough. Then manually removed nagios user and two nagios related group via shell and reconfigured and rebooted. Now it seems I am back in business.

Maybe nagios owner should have a look at this side effect?

Hi Jesper
