Topic: Server behind firewall - How do I enable PPTP?

Here's the deal:

I'm running the SME Server in 'server only' mode behind a Cisco 760 series router.  It serves the internal network beautifully, but how do I go about setting it up to allow PPTP VPNs with remote computers running Windows 2000?

I guess where I'm stumped is how to transfer traffic from the router's IP to the server's internal IP.  I'm a newbie at networking, so a completely 'dumbed down' explanation would be appreciated

Look for port forwarding ( port 1723 and protocol GRE )

There isn't any HOWTO that I'm aware of, and it would be near impossible to make one, as it's entirely dependent on the router.  Really, this has nothing at all to do with SME; your questions would be better directed to Cisco.

Your problem is with the CISCO 760 you have open ports on the 760 to allow PPTP packets to reach your SME Server. And since it is a Cisco 760 i'm not sure this is possible. You would have to check the 760 docs.
