Topic: Roundcube Webmail Timeout IE 8

Hello everyone!

Would like to thank everyone related in any way to this great community and look forward to being a part of and contributing as much as possible to it.

However! I have ran into a small scenario that I seem to not be able to find any information on at all.. I have looked virtually everywhere that I know to look in order to figure this problem out.

I recently installed Roundcube through the SME Server Wiki article, set it up beautifully and everything it's working like a champ with little to no problems thus far. The only issue I am having that I can't seem to figure out is that whenever a user logs in via Internet Explorer 8 they are instantly timed out.. They receive the error at the top of Roundcube Webmail stating "Your session is invalid or expired" and then kicks the user back to the login screen repeating an infinite loop. If you log in with any other browser (Tested browsers: Safari, Firefox 3, Google Chrome) then there seems to be no problems and flawless performance.

Any sort of insight on this would be extremely helpful.. I will be more than willing to provide whatever needed information in order to solve this! Thanks to anyone and everyone for any advice!

IMO this is a Roundcube's issue.. and, in my experience (but google will confirm it), Roundcube is one of the most bugged php app.

I wish that I could find another webmail that looked so sharp and clean cut but I really haven't done much research so I figured I would try to iron this problem out.

I myself also think this is an issue with Roundcube but I am just trying to confirm.

I'm reading that other people are having some issues with session handling as far as errors or connection issues are concerned.. Correct me if I'm wrong but people are having problems with Courier-IMAP and timeouts with Roundcube webmail.. I figured though that if this was indeed the issue that other browsers would experience the same difficulty.

Hi jhartzell, Horde webmail is part of standard SME Server. Have you tried it out? See http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation:User_Manual:Chapter4 for more info.

Hi, the wiki page at http://wiki.contribs.org/RoundCube also bears this out: "Actually roundcube is only available with beta status"

Hi,
I manually installed the latest version of Roundcube on a Ibay using the PHP5-CGI contrib.
I do not have this problem with IE8.

I wouldn't recommend using the version of roundcube from the contrib, it's very hackable (you can google for it).
