Ip Redirection to a Terminal SErver
« on: June 14, 2002, 07:25:28 AM »
I have a esmith server running as my firewall, but I was wondering if it was possible to have it redirect my ip to a windows 2000 terminal server i am also running, so I can get access to the terminal server. Doing this without actually opening all ports, only the one required for terminal server which I think is 3248

The easiest way would probably be to set up an SSH tunnel using an SSH client like PuTTY, and then point your terminal server client to "localhost".  Visit http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/ for more information about PuTTY.

I host a Terminal server behind E-smith. I installed the ip-forwardin module, and forward just port 3389 to the windows-server.
Another way is to connect with dial-in vpn to e-smith, and then start a session to the internal ip number.
