Topic: mail being deffered

Hi everybody,

for the last one month some mails remain in queue with the followiing in qmail log

@400000004b67604b2f4182e4 delivery 7710: deferral: Connected_to_125.19.17.20_but_connection_died._(#4.4.2)/
@400000004b67604b2f419284 status: local 0/10 remote 2/20
@400000004b67604d18d07484 delivery 7711: deferral: Connected_to_216.185.54.43_but_connection_died._(#4.4.2)/
@400000004b67604d18d0880c status: local 0/10 remote 1/20


Any pointers on how to trouble shoot this.

Someone has a mail server which isn't responding properly.  Use the server-manager mail report panel to find out which messages are being deferred. There's nothing directly you can do to fix the problem, so all you can do is try to understand the problem.

I would like to understand what is happening.  The question is these domains must be  getting mail from other id's, then why do we get a connection died error when mail is sent from our server.

What should I communicate to the person managing the other mail server  in case we can together rectify the issue.

There were no issues sending mails to the same domains a month before.

Could somebody help me to get a handle on this.

Talk to the admin at the domain in question. Their mail server is refusing connections from your server.
