Topic: weekly newsletter to 500 users

I got a request to provide a way to send e-mail (newsletter) to 500 users once a week (is NOT spam... all e-mails are from clients and information sent is from their interest. Anyway, we'll provide a way to unsubscribe)!

I tougth about to use mailman, so just one person post and all 500 got the message.
I could use commercial solutions (as low as R$50 =~ US$30 / month) but would love to use SME server to do this.
This client has a SME7.4 running... CPU usage is below 5%. Just lawyers! 

Anyone else  has another better option ?

You might want to try PHPlist (http://www.phplist.com/). It is free, and works well. It has the ability to let you throttle the outgoing emails so you won't appear as a spammer

I have used ezmlm http://wiki.contribs.org/Ezmlm for many years, been very happy with it.
