Topic: Connection loss every night.

we're running a p3 1000 with e-smith v5.1.2, Squidguard 3 and updates installed..  it seems to me that every night it is updating the blacklist and finishes about 4:30 am.  when we get in to check it at about 7:30 am, it has lost the LAN connection.. the external still works fine. Once the machine is rebooted it will run fine until the next mourning. I dont have a clue what could be causing this. Help!!!    if possible?    I was thinking of setting up the CRON to reboot the machine at 5:00 am everyday. or maybe set it to update only once a week. if anyone could help with that I would appreciate it...    THanks

Does the "ifconfig" command from the console show that your interface is down?

Peruse the log files, including /usr/local/squidGuard/log/squidGuard.log to see if you can seen if anything bombs.

Also, might try replacing the internal nic.
