Web Based Word Processor/Spreadsheet
« on: June 01, 2010, 03:58:46 PM »
Has anyone successfully found and installed a word processor and or a spreadsheet program on SME that can be used through a workstation web browser.  I'm looking for the ability to use dumb terminals or older PCs with a web browser to connect to an SME server and do some basic word processing and basic spreadsheet functions.  Google Doc/spreadsheet type application but installed on an SME server for localized security.

I am unaware of such a solution, but there used to be something like smeserver-thinclient. Not sure if that is still available. IIRC it could push an image to a system, perhaps that might be worth investigating.

http://wiki.contribs.org/OpenOffice_for_Windows  (depends how dumb the terminal?)
http://sourceforge.net/projects/owl/  (long time since I last looked at it)
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pafm/  (very lean very mean text editor, I use it for various iBays)
