Stopping internal DNS
« on: July 01, 2010, 07:38:12 AM »
I have a SME box that was being used as a webserver, but the website is now being hosted off-site. The problem is that the user cannot access her website from inside the network by using the domain name.

Details: the domain name is www.alpinepump.com

From inside the network, this resolves to the website located on the SME server. From outside the network, this resolves to the website located at the hosting service. The client still wants to use the mail server features, so the question (maybe) becomes one of fixing or stopping the DNS service.

Any thoughts as to how to clear up this issue?

Thanks.........

In the server manager Domains panel, change the setting to Internet DNS rather than Locally resolve.

Please search before asking, an answer may already exist.
